MICROSOFT BI ARCHITECT/PROGRAMMER

Working as part a customer team and in close collaboration with the project manager, the Microsoft architect/programmer designs, develops, and supports various BI application development projects. With a technical consulting role within various teams, you will work independently and be responsible for making recommendations on Microsoft application development. Job duties include the following:

• Design and develop the data warehouse and data mart;
• design and develop Microsoft-compatible solutions for reporting and analysis from the data warehouse, data mart, or any other data source;
• develop organic and functional deliverables;
  
• ensure that BI best practices are used;
  
• develop reports, dashboards, and analyses;
• develop multidimensional cubes or dimensional models;
• create and perform scenarios for unit testing, functional testing, and integration testing;
  
• optimise the performance of queries needed for the deliverables;
  
• ensure that technical documentation is produced for products;
• work in close collaboration with the customer team in order to strengthen the business partnership.

• University degree in computer science or equivalent;

• proven design and development expertise within large-scale projects;

• strong knowledge of Microsoft BI;

• minimum 2 years experience in data modelling and data warehousing;

• minimum 5 years experience with SQL Server;

• minimum 5 years experience with the following Microsoft tools: SSIS, SSRS, SSAS;

• development experience with MDX a plus;

• consulting experience a plus;

• mobility throughout the Montreal metropolitan area;

• oral and written fluency in French and English.
