BIPB and the Turing Trust team up with Global Giving UK
On the back of being named Qlik CSR partner of the year 2015, BIPB continues to support our partnership with the Turing Trust ahead of the upcoming visit to Ghana.
In just a matter of weeks, members of Team BIPB will head to Ghana to meet up with associates from the Turing Trust, who are already there, to provide computing lessons to local residents in Accra aged 16 – 25.
The Turing Trust set up a fundraising challenge with Global Giving UK on the 8th June 2015 to encourage support for their efforts. If the goal of £2,500 from 50 people in 5 weeks is reached, Global Giving offer match funding events, skilled volunteers and personal charity development support to those who complete the challenge. This is all on top of the £2,500 raised which will also make a huge different to the students in Ghana.
The goal is to give students the opportunity to break out of the rural poverty cycle by teaching IT and vocational skills thus making them more employable.
